Visit narrative:
We were dropped off by the heli from Shunda base. Meanwhile, Rick, Sandra, and Dale went up to 356. Landing spot was nice, ridge fairly wide, just next to big cairn. Historic location was definitely overtop the cairn. It’s so large that I needed 3 alternate locations to get the right views. This station is relatively low elevation.
Weather narrative:
We arrived and all looked nice, despite storms slowly brewing in the distance to the east. Then a cell formed right overtop us just as we were finishing up – Margriet and my hair were both standing on end, the air was very charged. We scrambled down the ridge to get out of immediate danger of lightning where we waited out a hailstorm until Kyle picked us up.
